Orientation Committee

The Orientation Committee’s main goal is to make sure that new international and exchange students have a smooth transition and feel at home in Rotterdam and at the Erasmus University in no time. The Orientation Committee is particularly active in the beginning of each semester, for example by helping out during the ESN Introduction Days, the Eurekaweek, One Stop Shop and by giving general support to the EUR buddy program.
Throughout the year, one of the Orientation Committee’s main tasks is to create a tight network of buddies who are ready to help with the integration of incoming students. To be able to do this, the Orientation Committee will organize events especially for the buddies, thereby fostering a stronger relationship within the buddy-community itself. Furthermore, the orientation committee will create content for the buddy Facebook page and groups, and the WhatsApp group. This content includes interesting buddy stories, upcoming events, pictures taken during events, and tips and tricks.

Sports Committee

ESN is looking for competitive team players that are crazy about sports and excited to organize big, monthly sports events. The ESN Sports committee is organising every month a different sports activities on and off campus. Will you be part of the team that will organize the next football event? Are you executing the ice-skating event? Are you ready to organize sports events?

SocialErasmus committee

SocialErasmus is an international project organized by the Erasmus Student Network that promotes a social attitude among students through fun activities all over the world. The aim of SocialErasmus is to enrich the international experience of young people abroad with volunteering activities that allow them to understand society’s problems and to work on the solutions. SocialErasmus provides an opportunity for international young people to get to know other realities and learn how they can contribute to improve society as citizens of the world. Our mission is to provide young citizens the opportunity to do more with their mobility experience, to make a difference and create a positive social change through volunteering.

Show the added value of volunteering as a part of SocialErasmus.
We believe mobility is a life-changing experience through which young citizens are able to broaden their horizon and face realities different from theirs, enabling them to develop as citizens of the world making a contribution to the improvement of society.

Career committee

Joining the Career committee is a wonderful way to not only develop your business skills but also to work in a fun and international environment. The main objective of this team is to work on the professional side of ESN. This team introduces international students to the Dutch labour market and let them explore the opportunities of working in the Netherlands after or during their studies. This is mainly achieved through organising business-related events: the ESN International Career Day and in-house days.

As part of career committee, you will work in a team of highly motivated students. Together with other students and board member we will brainstorm, prepare, plan and execute our ideas into reality.

Partnership Committee

Joining the Partnerships committee is a wonderful way to not only develop your business skills but also to work in a fun and international environment. Partnerships committee mainly establishes new partnerships and sponsorships that are beneficial for international students throughout their stay in Rotterdam. Our members are continuously approaching local companies to negotiate deals for our ESN Card to make it even more valuable to you. Maintaining relationships with the existing partners, approaching potential parties, closing deals and acquiring sponsorships are essential parts for this committee.

Marketing Committee

The ESN Marketing committee is looking for motivated, social and creative students that will help ESN maintain and improve its image as THE platform for international students and promote integration with Dutch students.This entails writing and designing the promotion for the various events we organize, coming up with innovative and inventive ways to reach and intrigue our target audience and think of strategic ways to partner up with like-minded organizations. Moreover, keeping people up to date with what happens in ESN is important as well, which includes writing articles/blog.

Social events committee

Coming from abroad to a new country where you know nobody can be a hassle. The ESN social events committee organizes a range of events to make sure people build up social connections and get to know the student (night) life in Rotterdam. Besides parties, the social events committee also organizes the King's day trip to Amsterdam and variety of other social events such as the pub-crawl! This committee lifts the language and cultural barrier that often refrains students from meeting each other.

City Trip committee

International students coming to the Rotterdam want to explore! The city trip Committee, therefore, organizes an opportunity for students to enrich their experience abroad, ESN organizes several city trips throughout the year to destinations both, within the Netherlands as well as outside of the country. Most of our trips last for either a day or last for 2-3 days.  Organize a multitude of entertaining one-day tours through the Netherlands and multiple-days trips to international destinations. By setting up the program, contacting external partners and having the responsibility to guide a city trip you will have the opportunity to enjoy discovering new places such as:
 

-International trips: Paris, Antwerp, Munchen, Prague

-Dutch city trips: Amsterdam, Gouda, Keukenhof, Eindhoven, Volendam

Cultural committee

Culture is what differentiates but also connect us. As a committee member of the cultural committee, you will organize all kinds of cultural events. Create the opportunity for students to perform their songs, share their food, teach their language with each other. At the end of the day making connections that last. Let students surprise their friends with their knowledge in the pub-quiz alongside some Dutch snacks. Let them be amazed by the food of their foreign fellow students. Let them become mesmerized by a rap song or a dance performance at the open stage nights!
