Human Rights Day in The Hague by SocialErasmus

Experience Human Rights Day 2017 in The Hague!

Peace and safety are not guaranteed for everybody. Disasters and conflicts affect the lives of many millions of people around the world. What do you think of this? Are you curious about human rights and the personal stories behind the refugee crisis? SocialErasmus gives you the perfect opportunity to learn more about these topics in an intriguing and interactive way!

Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December – the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. To reflect on this day, we will make a visit to the Humanity House in The Hague. The Humanity House is a place to see, hear and experience the human story behind disasters and conflicts, both physically and online. From previous experience, we know that the stories told in the Humanity House are not only fascinating and informative but also leave students emotionally touched. Don't be surprised if this short visit will change your perspective on human rights completely! To let the stories sink in, we will have a drink in a café afterward before heading back to Rotterdam.
