ESN Very Much Dutch city trip

For our first Very Much Dutch city trip we’re visiting the famous typical Dutch fishing village: Volendam. It’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Netherlands. This tiny village with historic Dutch houses and windmills attracts around 1.6 million visitors yearly.

On this day we’ll go to Marken first, which is an island offshore Volendam. We’ll visit a clog factory, explore the village with a guide and enjoy some lunch with a view. From there we’ll go to Volendam by boat which gives you the opportunity to enjoy some typical Dutch views. In Volendam itself we will visit a cheese factory including a demonstration and some nice cheese tasting! Of course we will also explore this city in a guided walking tour. On top of that, for a small extra fee, there is a possibility to make your Very Much Dutch experience complete by taking a picture in traditional Dutch clothing.

We’ll depart from Erasmus University at 9:00 and be back in Rotterdam around 18:30.

In short, if you've ever wondered how cheese or clogs are made, this is your chance to find out!
