Our speakers and company representatives this year range from small deal consulting start-ups in London to corporate multinationals with offices all over the globe. We aim to include a mix of start-up, scale-up, small-to-medium business, and big corporates to help you, the student, get a feel for what each has to offer as a place to work!

In this workshop by Minite, many topics are discussed, ranging from what to do after graduating university, to starting your own company, as well as comparing life as an entrepreneur and life in the corporate world. A quiz has been organised for you as an additional fun element of this workshop. Additionally, you will be put into different groups during the presentation to discuss various topics and present your findings to Micky. The event will be an hour, and will end with a Q&A session where you can ask Micky any questions you may have concerning the matters discussed during her presentation.
Başak Karaca, after Lycee de Galatasaray, is a graduate of Bosphorus University with high honor double major degree in Management and International Relations and Political Science. She worked almost 15yrs in Procter & Gamble mostly in Switzerland for regional leadership and in the USA headquarters for the global marketing strategic roles. After she moved back to Turkey she started as the General Manager of marketing for the chocolate business in Ülker and held multiple leadership and Board member positions. Just before joining the Coca-Cola Company in end 2018 Başak initiated her private consultancy business and helped companies on strategy development, marketing/ brand building and business assessment.
She is now the General Manager of Turkey in The Coca-Cola Company.
We will be conducting an interview to learn about her career choices, the hard decisions she had to make during her career and how she overcame them. She will talk about her position in Coca-Cola Company and her responsibilites and Coca-Cola’s work environment. The event is set to last an hour, with the last 15 minutes being devoted to a Q&A from the audience.
Nexio projects will be giving a workshop related to sustainability consulting. The workshop content will mostly be broad so as not to isolate any participants who have less knowledge about sustainability. Will mostly revolve around knowledge sharing, specifically about how sustainability consulting works. In this session, we will be joined by two members of the Nexio team.
They are: Amaury Quelier, and Sustainability Facilitator: “My MSc in Sustainable Management & Eco-Innovation, together with my experience in various sectors (retail, FMCG, waste management, and e-commerce) has given me a concrete appreciation of sustainability in business. At Nexio I work as a Sustainability Facilitator and support our clients in their challenges by translating their vision into concrete sustainable actions.”
Cilia Keser, Sustainability Strategy Lead: “As an experienced Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the sporting goods and FMCG sectors, I developed my knowledge of the industries while sharpening my vision of the merchandising and project management functions. At Nexio Projects as a Sustainability Strategy lead, I co-lead the team that develops and implements sustainability strategies to future proof organisations as well as guide and support them towards achieving their sustainability goals.”
During the start-up introduction, you’ll not only get the chance to hear from entrepreneurial speakers at different start-ups. You’ll also have the opportunity to network with them! We’ll be having speed presentations of 30 minutes per start-up, after which we’ll have speed networking of 15 minutes per start-up. We’ll form you into groups, put you into break-out rooms, and make sure that you’re rotated through each company so you don’t miss the chance to engage with any them!
Anyblock Analytics is a German blockchain solutions provider. They offer data, tools, and infrastructure to integrate business processes with blockchain. The workshop will be held by Caron Schaller. Caron boarded the blockchain train in 2013, riding out the growing pains and crypto winters. He received his M.Sc. in Finance & Investments from the Rotterdam School of Management in 2020. This deepened his interest in decentralized finance and led him to cofound Hiro Finance, a decentralized asset management platform. As a self-taught data scientist, he also worked in algorithmic trading before joining Anyblock Analytics. In his spare time, Caron is an avid mountaineer and road cyclist.
EoS Deal Advisory
Founded by two former KPMG partners, EoS Deal Advisory assists corporations and private equity firms in complex deals. EOS Deal Advisory is a company “reshaping the deal advisory market by running a diverse business that does not waste talent by relying on an intense after- hours working culture that tends to exclude women and minorities” (Ina Kjær).
We will be joined by Ina Kjær– Brazilian native with over 20 years of experience in managing cross-border integrations and carve-outs globally, Ina is fluent in several languages, including English, Portuguese, French, Japanese, and Danish. Some of the previous clients that Ina worked with include Shell, Nestle, McCormick, ADNOC, Blackstone and KKR.
Maggie Brereton will also be presenting alongside Ina Kjaer. With a background in Mathematics, she has over 19 years of transaction experience under her belt and has worked with several well-known clients including GKN, Smiths Group plc, BAE Systems, UPS, BT, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Ahold and Prudential.
Fizyr designs, builds, installs, and maintains the world’s best vision software product for automated picking and placing in harsh logistics environments. Their deep learning algorithms are used to enable automated handling of unknown objects varying in shape, size, color, material, and stacking, being picked from (conveyed) bulk. Fizyr’s product is applied in production all over the world by leading system integrators and end-users, in online retail, warehousing and parcel services.
Anastasia is responsible for all marketing initiatives at Fizyr, helping the company scale fast on a global level, while further developing the brand as a whole. During the presentation, she will get into balancing multiple priorities in a fast growing scale-up, marketing for B2B and Fizyr’s special case, working in a culturally diverse company, the alignment between commercial and technical departments in tech start-ups, and many more. One of Fizyr’s marketing interns will also be present to share their experiences with global partnerships in the robotics industry.
Anastasia is passionate about behavioral marketing. Hailing from from Greece, she has a bachelor in Business Administration and a master’s in Marketing Management. Having worked for corporate companies, she finds the start-up environment more riveting. Her area of expertise is brand management, and she has an extensive background in marketing strategy, digital marketing, advertising and consulting. She is not only a marketing professional but also a former professional alpine skiing athlete and member of Greece’s national team. On top of that, she loves photography and, nowadays, she is focusing on improving her language and music skills, by playing the guitar and learning Dutch.
Rotterdam Expat Centre
The Rotterdam Expat Centre offers expats a warm welcome by making sure that they can settle into Rotterdam as easy and smooth as possible. The Expat Centre offers help with formalities such as picking up residence permits, getting a BSN and even open a bank account. Besides the official part, the Expat Centre also offers information about living and working in Rotterdam, from housing, to taxes, to culture and everything in between, all in one place. So all new arrivals feel welcome and at home in Rotterdam.”
Laura Schalm is the accountmanager from Rotterdam Expat Centre. Born in Rotterdam, she grew up in the alps of Switzerland. She has lived in Rotterdam for 9 years and studied European studies at the Hague University of applied sciences, followed by an internship at Unilever. At REC she welcomes talents every day from all over the world and is happy to guide them and let them feel at home in Rotterdam.
Laura’s presentation will cover the do’s and necessary actions for internationals staying in Rotterdam after their studies.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch: Life in Rates Sales
Meet Luize Stabina! Having completed her Master’s degree in Finance and Investments at RSM, Luize now works for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London. Prior to moving to the Netherlands, she studied at the University of Warwick in which time she completed multiple internships; two at J.P. Morgan, an internship at a private equity firm in her native Latvia, and a summer internship at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she discovered her passion and skill for short rates sales. She subsequently accepted the team’s offer to go full-time shortly after!
