Intro Session 

Join the Kick-off of International Career Days 2022. During this session you will get an overview of what you can expect from the different activities, sessions, and networking events we have planned during the days. You can meet other participants and get a head start to be prepared for meeting your potential future employer! You can make the most of the days by meeting other participants and having a chance to network with students from different faculties during the Introduction Session.  

Rotterdam Expat Centre

The Rotterdam Expat Centre specializes in providing (soon to be) ex-pats aid with practical matters such as permit and BSN application and other information to help ex-pats settle in the most comfortable manner in Rotterdam. During ICD’s 2022, Daniel Moeliker and his colleagues will be giving a brief presentation about everything you need to know about becoming an ex-pat in Rotterdam and the Netherlands. After the presentation, there will be time to ask all questions you may have.

Networking lunch 

Take a break and recharge for the rest of the sessions at our networking lunch on campus to meet like-minded students and recruiters. 

Minite works 

Minite works is an increasingly popular and fast-growing digital freelancing platform that matches top students with top companies offering study-related jobs in the field of digital marketing, sales, research, analytics, IT and more. The startup was founded by Micky, an RSM graduate who had a corporate career in tech at large firms like IBM and Salesforce, but now is committed to helping students thrive, gain experience before graduating, build a competitive CV and get ready for their future career. Join this presentation to get all the tips and tricks on how to network effectively, a skill that can have a huge impact on your future opportunities and career success, and to learn about how you can have high paying, study-related jobs next to your studies.

Alumni Pannel + drinks 

If you don’t know what you want to do later and/or want to have insights about different fields, join us to our ICD alumni panel! The 6 RSM Alumnis will be Lauritz Stoffers, Shivam Dewan, Anne Minderovic, Mathias Shmid, Eni Kurteshi, Marc Tjoe Fat. You will have the opportunity to hear about their experiences and ask them questions. After having listened and asked your questions to the speakers, there will be some networking drinks. Job Speed networking:

If you are interested in meeting representatives from multiple companies in finance, business, tech in one session, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Here you will get a chance to personally meet with multiple companies such as Minite.works, and expand your professional network. While speed networking, you can make a quick but lasting impression on the company representatives, exchange socials and keep in touch for any future job offers to advance your career.  

Dell Technologies

 Dell’s goal is to “drive human progress” by creating essential IT infrastructure solutions that keep pushing companies forward. Moreover, create great IT for consumers, with brands like XPS, Alienware, and Inspiron. They serve nearly any company in the world. During the event, Mike van Dijk, account executive at Dell will give a presentation on how Dell guides their customers by telling stories, instead of just selling products. With all of his knowledge as a seasoned consultative seller, career planner, and trainer, he will be providing us with tips on how to become better at selling and will give us an insight on how it is to work for Dell.  

Bunq
Founded in 2012, Bunq is an innovative dutch neobank, allowing you to have complete control over your money through your phone, without having to take trips to the bank. Bunq is now valued at approximately 1.6 billion, and recently announced the largest Series A round of venture capital financing for a European fintech. Ali Niknam, CEO and founder of bunq will be the guest speaker. He founded his first company at age 16, and has been coding since age 9. While studying computer science at the Technical University of Delft he founded the technology company TransIP which is now one of the largest web hosting companies in the Netherlands. This session will be an interview with Ali, about himself and the story behind bunq.

PwC

PwC is an audit & assurance, consulting and tax services company that provides its services for private companies, governments, (semi-)public and social organizations. Thomas Hoekstra will be the guest speaker for PwC. He has a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology as well as in Business. He leads the IT Operating Model proposition within Technology consulting and is experienced in both (Agile) IT Operating Model design & implementation as well as IT Strategy and IT Cost & Value management. He will be presenting his career journey and recruitment opportunities in PwC. 

Unilever workshop

Unilever is one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies with 400 different brands, located in 140 countries. Daniel Biato, the HR Future Leader, current rotation in Ben & Jerry’s Europe Factory, will be participating as the guest speaker for the Unilever business case workshop. The causes that he mostly works for are related to bringing equity, diversity, and inclusion into the business through culture, learning, and health in life and well-being in the workplace. Students will get a hands-on approach of working on business cases given by Unilever. 

Dinner

During the networking dinner, you’ll get the opportunity to enjoy a pasta buffet while networking with your fellow students and some of the recruiters. 

Celonis

Celonis is the global leader in execution management. The Celonis Execution Management System provides companies a modern way to run their business processes entirely on data and intelligence. They have thousands of customers like Coca-Cola, Dell, Uber or L’Oréal for example. For this session, Jigme Klein and Michael Hogenboom will guide you through an interactive presentation.

Student Startups
Three student start-ups will be presenting about their experiences. Nomsanga is a brand created by students for students, selling high quality shea butter from Burkina Faso at an affordable price. Auguste is the founder of Nomsanga and works with his cousin to run the business. Acumen is an entrepreneurship consulting company that connects entrepreneurs with investors. Meanwhile, Jelly is a student-led startup that helps content creators & brands create meaningful virtual experiences for their fans through gamification, data analytics, and blockchain tech.

Undutchables Recruiter Workshop:

In this session you learn all the tips you need to build the perfect resume and how to ace your interviews from recruiters directly. Undutchables is a recruiting Agency which works with internationals looking for a job in the Netherlands. The presenter, Rodrigo Cruz is a recruitment consultant who is experienced in recruiting internationals in the Dutch job market. At the end of this session, you will have more insight on starting your career as an international in the Netherlands. 

Port of Rotterdam

Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe. For this session, Boudewijn Simeons, the COO of Port of Rotterdam will talk about the activities of the port, its challenges, opportunities and its perspectives. He will also talk about his role and the way he experiences it as a COO. Finally, you will be introduced to careers in the harbor and different opportunities you may have there.
